- Blueprint Reading: Interpret structural shop drawings and weld symbols to determine part orientation, connection details, and dimensional requirements.
- Tack Welding: Tack weld parts in place to hold fit-up prior to final welding, ensuring assemblies hold their shape and dimensions.
- Dimensional Verification: Check squareness, plumb, and dimensions using tape measures, squares, and levels before handing assemblies off to welding.
- Material Staging: Pull and organize the correct cut parts for each assembly, working with material handling to keep the fitting station supplied.
- Equipment Operation: Use hand tools, come-alongs, clamps, jacks, and cranes as needed to align and hold parts during fit-up.
- Quality Control: Catch and flag mis-cut, damaged, or incorrect parts before fitting them into an assembly, and communicate issues to QC and the shop lead.
- Collaboration: Work closely with welders, QC, and shop leadership to keep assemblies moving efficiently through the fitting station.
- Safety & Organization: Maintain a clean, professional work area and strictly adhere to all safety protocols and PPE requirements.

- Physical Capability: Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in a high-output shop environment for extended periods.
- Reliability: A track record of punctuality and a commitment to meeting production deadlines.
